WPP is the world’s largest communications group and it has recently announced unexpected revenue increases. It was reported this morning that WPP’s public relations and public affairs business was booming and had grown by as much as 5.1% in the third quarter of this year.
This presents an impressive increase on previous rises of 3.5% in the second quarter and a 2.8% rise in the first quarter. For the entire year, overall revenue increases within the company are soaring above 12%. Like-for-like growth is also remarkable in this time of general economic stasis because it is as high as 7.5% for the company.
Speaking about overall growth WPP highlighted Burson-Marsteller (BM) as a stand-out success and described growth at BM as ‘excellent.’
WPP’s trading update was also bright this quarter and PR Week suggested that the company is very positive about the future, aiming to improve profits by 10-15% year on year.
