Threepipe is rumoured to have been selected by beer
brand Stella Artois to launch a campaign based around the Cannes Film
Festival. Reports suggest that the deal was struck between the agency
and the premium lager brand for a 6-figure sum around the end of 2010
and that following the competitive pitching process last year, campaigns
are ready to hit the film festival this spring.
Cannes, which is frequented by international film stars,
movie makers, critics and industry professionals, runs through the month
of April and the campaign which Threepipe have planned for Stella
Artois is expected to focus on traditional PR and also integrate social
media. The character which Stella Artois previously created, Jaques
D’Azur is thought to be a prominent feature of the campaign.
The agency are also going to be promoting Stella Artois’s 4%
lager which is marketed as having a smoother taste and their new
product, a cider, named ‘Cidre.’
